Overview: Visit Counselors provide progressive visits for children in foster care (throughout South Jersey) and their parents with the goal of reunification/permanency.  Responsibilities include transporting children to and from visits, modeling and coaching parenting skills, facilitating appropriate interactions between parents and children and working collaboratively with DCP&P.  Flexible schedules, agency vehicle, and laptop provided.

Job Function:

Therapeutic Visitation Services - Provide therapeutic support and progressive visitation between birth parents and their children in resource placements to increase timely reunification. 

Parent Support Services - Prepare families for reunification or maintain reunification for families that have been recently reunified.

This position requires a Bachelors degree required.   Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record.

  • Must be sensitive, flexible and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, sexual orientation or any other special needs as reflected in the ability to communicate with staff and/or clients.
  • Assume an active role in agency events.
