Program Overview: Strengthening Foster Children and Families focuses on preventing placement disruption and stabilizing children in their resource homes. Weekly in-home and telehealth services assist resource parents in gaining a better understanding of the child's issues and needs and learning how to best support themselves and the children in their care. Family and individual sessions on feelings identification and expression enhances children's sense of safety, security and connection. SFCF services are provided to Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, Salem, Atlantic and Cape May County resource families,

Job Function: Engage resource parents, youth and families; provide in-home therapy, psychoeducation support and advocacy to resource parents and the foster children residing in their homes in an effort to improve the parent-child interactions, healthy communication and feelings expression to stabilize the placement. Therapists will need to facilitate interactive discussions using the Parent Awareness Curriculum; teach, coach and model effective parent-child interactions; and work collaboratively with DCP&P and other providers to best support families' needs.

Submits Level of Service (LOS) and weekly timesheets as required by program and agency.

Attends agency and program meetings and trainings within established time frames.

Plays an active role in meetings and trainings designed to enhance agency and program operations.

Must regularly be able to see, speak and hear. Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, use hands and arms and must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

To qualify for this job you need to have the below minimum requirements and experience:

Master's degree in social work, psychology or a related field required.

Active NJ LSW License required for social work degree.

Experience working with child welfare population and/or adoption issues is preferred.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and use of
